Face of The Day 21/4/14

Its a bank holiday weekend, and that means I have had four days off, so while I should've been revising I decided to do a blog post... oops.

This is pretty much my go-to makeup at the moment and I felt like sharing! Enjoy!

Going chronologically, I think base is the best place to start, especially as it's my favourite.

I started using my trusty Simple moisturiser, as I have sensitive skin I know it wont break me out or give me some weird rash.. Next up was my M.A.C pro-longwear foundation, I'm shade NC15 (yes, very pale), as I knew i would be out all day and this is literally unbeatable for longevity.  After this I went for the cult favourite Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, do I even need to say any more? For bronzer it was the H&M bronzing powder, to brighten up and sculpt my face, sadly on camera it did come out looking rather orange... Lastly is probably my favourite product out of them all, swept over the top of my cheekbones and bridge of my nose, the Balm's mary-lou manizer. Wow. This champagne highlighter gives the ultimate dewy-finish, inner glow, without looking oily or fake, I could ramble on about this forever but I think ill save it for another post..

Im gonna go for lips next, as it's short and sweet. Last week my friend James came back from Florida (jealous) and with him came my first EOS lipbalm, in the flavour (scent? colour?)Strawberry and boy is it good. On top of this I added another H&M goodie, the lip pen in the shade Papaya Punch (great name), this is kind of like a coloured lip balm with a glossy finish, low maintenance and great for summer, paired with the bargain price of £2.99.

Lastly is the general eye area! This was pretty simple as on an everyday basis I personally find minimal is best! For my brows I use the elf eyebrow kit in the shade Ash, this is one of elf's definite hits (out of their many hit and misses), I just use it to add shape and fill in sparse areas and works great. For my eyes I went back to my trusty Naked 2 palette, one of the most raved about palettes of all time, there is no need to say much more. I used 'bootycall' on my lids and browbone to highlight, and 'tease' in the crease. I'm currently trying out rimmel's Scandal Eyes mascara, and I'm not going to lie, it is a tad clumpy on me but nothing you can't deal with.

I thought I would just briefly mention the 'tools' I used if anyone was wondering, for foundation and concealer blending I used the real techniques miracle complexion sponge, for shadow I used the deluxe crease brush (part of the starter set) for brows their brow brush (also part of the starter set), and for highlighter I used their setting brush. For bronzer I used the Body Shop's bronzing brush and to set it all in place elf's mist & setting spray!

The finished look!

Sorry this was rather long and rambly, but I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for reading, Sophie x
